Narrative technique in wuthering Heights

1vEmily Jane Bronte was an English novelist and poet. He was best known for her solo novel, Wuthering Heights. Today, it is considered a classic of English literature. She was born on July 30, 1818, in the North of England. Wuthering Heights stands out for the narrative approach she used and the level of artistry that went into it. The "Greatest Romance Novel in English Literature," according to most readers, is Wuthering Heights.

The manner a writer transmits what they want to say to their reader, as well as the approach they employ to create the story, is referred to as narrative technique.

Wuthering Heights has a multi layered narration. The work contains a multitude of different narratives, despite the fact that there are only two obvious narrators, Lockwood and Nelly Dean. This is the situation since the entire action of Wuthering Heights is presented in the form of eyewitness narrations by people who have actually witnessed the narration they describe.

Lockwood and Ellen "Nelly" Dean are the two main narrators in Wuthering Heights. Lockwood is the major narrator, and he begins and ends the story by documenting what he hears from Nelly. As a result, Nelly is telling Lockwood her version of events, which is then filtered and recorded from his point of view.

The primary tale is let know  in a dramatic manner, with a significant amount of dialogue. The fact that there are two narrators does not imply that the events are told from two separate points of view. It just implies that the plot is multi-layered.

The two narrators are assigned different time references. When Lockwood arrives to rent Thrushcross Grange, much of the action has already taken place; he meets his landlord Heathcliff, finds everything around him to be extremely frightening, and begs Nelly Dean to tell him the story of his landlord. Lockwood serves as the story's exterior framing in this way.

He puts the story in context as he listens to Nelly's story and records everything in his diary. The readers connect to the otherwise unique story through him, through his reaction and curiosity. Nelly Dean is in charge of recounting past occurrences that she has personally witnessed. As a result, she recounts the events of the past. She offers the story's ‘inner frame’ having witnessed the events firsthand. Her role as Cathy's governess adds credibility to the story, which aims to show the clash of primordial passions in love.

As a result, we can conclude that the novelist employed such a complex storytelling approach in order to make the story seem credible and persuasive to readers.

The novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte is "the only outstanding work that has not been obscured by the dust of time", It only reveals its inner meaning, but it does it in such a way that readers are able to actively participate in the discovery of its hidden meaning.
